Selby Williams 1.jpg

South African singer and songwriter Selby Williams was born and raised in Avianpark, one of the most dangerous and gang-infested areas in the Worcester and Western Cape area. Despite these humble beginnings, Selby has always dreamed of one day making an impact not only in his local community, but also in the world.

As the second oldest of four children, he spent a lot of time with his grandmother. Whenever a special song played on the radio, he always sang along with his grandmother. This is probably where his love for music began.

Despite peer pressure in his teenage years, his love for music remained. After Selby discovered several singing competitions, he decided that one day he wanted to be the next John Legend.

After matric he joined a community arts organization which helped him develop his musical skills. He had the opportunity to share his musical journey with audiences overseas as well.

Selby's participation in the ATKV-Crescendo Mentorship Program in 2022 not only further established his love for music, but for the first time he tried his hand at composition. He was able to record his first song Forever and Now and in the process experience first hand how an artist develops his own musical brand and foundation.

At the moment he is producing his first album. He believes that his music speaks a universal language that everyone can relate to. He hopes that through his music he can inspire and change others for the better.

Marsha Bothma, a graduate of Stellenbosch University and singer/songwriter from Cape Town, has been singing since she was eight years old. At the age of twelve, she tried her hand at songwriting for the first time. This love for music was the first step to finally being selected as a participant of the ATKV-Crescendo Mentorship Program in 2022. This year she acts as one of the mentors in this project.

The music that emerges from her pen reflects her love of R&B, Afrikaans, gospel, pop and house to name just a few. Through her compositions, she is able to create a fun, yet introspective style about anything close to her heart. As a performing artist, she is known for her soothing voice and lively energy during her performances that help her communicate directly with the audience.

Marsha's song Stronger took the number 1 position on Heart FM Top 10 and Radio Awakening. Furthermore, she can boast of the fact that this song has been played on more than forty local and international radio stations.

Her last single Vlam in my hart was written as an ode to her husband. Fans can look forward to the music video releasing in July.
